WINE REGIONS

Alps wine regions are determined in part by the mix of climatic influences from the Mediterranean and the Alps. Our region is in all respects ideally suited to winemaking. Or, as world-renowned expert Anthony Dias Blue put it, our region is a winemaking paradise.
SLOVENIA

Slovenia is in all respects ideally suited to winemaking, its terroir, determined in part by the mix of climatic influences from the Mediterranean and the Alps.  As world-renowned expert Anthony Dias Blue put it, Slovenia is a winemaking paradise. The presence of the vine in this small country on the sunny side of the Alps has been documented as far back as 2,600 years ago. At Slovenian wineries you can find gentle, fresh, aromatic whites, top predicate-quality whites, and full, hearty and recognisably sun-kissed reds. In short, Slovenia is the Old World in miniature.
ITALY

Italy has a proud history in winemaking, going back to the Etruscan and Greek settlers, who made wine there long before the Romans began developing their prolific vineyards. What makes the country’s wines so diverse and exciting are the extremes of climate and landscape from north to south and east to west. Consequently, within Italy's many regions there is truly a wine for every palate.
AUSTRIA

Austria is a wine country of great originality and its own unique wine culture, influenced largely by tavern culture in which wine-making families make a wide range of wines for sale to customers. Wine has been made here for at least 3 millenia, and today Austria produces world-class dry white wines which are widely praised by the wine press the world over. There are also serious reds being made by talented growers, and some of the best sweet wines on earth. Austria has its own range of unique grape varietals, and these will be found in all these styles of wine.
